Firefish died?

I think my purple firefish may have died in my tank. Over a week ago, I saw an isopod attached to him. Each day after that, I noticed what looked like scars on the fish and the fins looked ratty and worse each day. I don't have a QT tank so i had no where to put him. Last I saw him was Saturday morning and he ate. Is it possible he died under the liverock? i don't want to tear down the tank to find out. I have not seen any amonia spike. the only other fish, a clown, seems fine. Should I be real concerned, or did the CUC take care of the body?

I thought about that, but the tank is a Nano Cube w/closed top. I checked the rear chambers but it isn't there.

Not sure if this is what's going on with you, but I had a purple firefish a few years ago that I didn't see for MONTHS after I added it to my 180. Literally MONTHS. I got him in March and didn't see him until the middle of the summer. And believe me I looked for him, all the dang time too. He just didn't feel like coming out until he was ready. lol

I don't know. I had him about 2 weeks before all this happened. He was always very shy, but would always come out during feeding time to eat and then would hang in the front of the tank for a while. Anyway, I hope the crabs and narcisius snails take care of the body and don't let it rot.

I'm sure the CUC will do their job if the firefish is a gonner - but they can hide, too.

I think I'd be more worried about that isopod appearing on another host - so keep an eye out on your other fish.
