Firefish got attacked by what?

I just checked the fish tank with a flash light just to make sure things were as normal. I saw my purple fire fish laying in the sand against a rock (which is wierd first of all) but he looks like he got in some kind of fight because his face is covered in little white hairs/spikes. It looks like he tried to bite a porcupine lol. I dont see chunks taken out, just a bunch of little spines.
He's still alive but I'd be surprised if he lives until the morning. He's flashing like crazy.

There is nothing (that I know of) in the tank that would cause that kind of harm. The only thing that I could think of would be a bristle worm but I've never seen any and I'm not sure how any would possibly have gotten into the tank.
ohhhh....now that I think of it, maybe one or something came in on a piece of maricultured coral. I just got 5 maricultured colonies 2 weeks ago. Still sort of wierd though.

My bet is on a bristle worm. Probably ate/tried to eat one. I have seen the hairs/spikes on a few of my fish and they recovered just fine but they didn't exhibit the flashing and laying on sand that you're describing.
