Fireshrimp

Do fireshrimp clean fish like other cleaner shrimp do? I ask because I just saw my mimic tang in the cave that my fireshrimp hangs out in, and he was just sitting there with the shrimp on his face. I couldn't get a pic because they stoped by the time I got there with the camera. Anybody ever see their fireshrimp clean?

Ok, fire shrimp are in fact cleaner shrimp however most fish seem not to know it and/or the shrimp are not as eager as skunk cleaners to clean. I have not seen my fire shrimp clean but it is very shy. I once had one though that would clean my hand along with my skunk cleaner but again, I never actually saw it cleaning a fish.

well, mine was sure enough cleaning my tang. There was a reason for that! Seeing him do that odd thing made me look REALLY close at the tang and he has ICH and so does my new chalk bass! CRAP!

i had a cleaner shrimp that would get on my hand and clean my cuticles. funniest thing ever.

They are cleaners, however I seem to recall they come from deep water, which is why they don't really like light.
