Fireworm Sting

Earlier this week I couldn't find a fish and started looking. I found it in my overflow box. Since its a tight fit I tried to cup it in my hand. This wasn't a good move since I grabbed a fireworm or a bristleworm. I put it down and discovered 2 finger covered with little hairs. After about 30 minute of tweezers and hot water I got all of them out. It hurt a bit, but it wasn't bad. I had no other effects all week, but the last couple days the top joint on my middle finger has started to hurt like I jammed it. I don't remember jamming it and its the finger that got hit the hardest. I don't think its anything significant, but I will try to keep updates.

After finding this guy I did some research, and while I have yet to get stung, I did read that soaking the area in warm vinegar will dissolve the bristles and help neutralize the poison. A little late I know, but it may help next time.

That being said, I really hope you feel better soon. I hear the stings REALLY hurt. :(
