Tried to update the firmware (4.04BC10 to latest 4.042B11) and was experiencing similar timeout problems others have had....

Now, after several restart attempts I am getting blinking yellow on controller EB1 and EB2....Cannot get into the unit via ethernet had wire/direct wire at all..
I have blinking green on EB3 and EB4.

I think it is hung in bootloader mode or something...(restart no help)

Any idea on how to TELNET into the apex so I can try and reload previous firmware

Remove power from the controller. Run the Apex Flash Utility, then click Update firmware. Immediately thereafter power up the Apex. It should then attempt to obtain the firmware.

Getting the following:

host name or IP address is invalid

(I am directly connected with laptop via ethernet cable
(Port 80)

If you are connecting directly pc/laptop to Apex then you need to manually configure IP address in the PC else it will not be assigned an address usable to upload the firmware. You have 2 options:

* The easiest is to connect the Apex to the router, laptop to the router, start the uploader and wait for it to start counting connection retries, power up the Apex and the upload should locate the Apex and update

* Manually configure the PC's network connection, assign it an IP like 192.168.1.100 and then perform the same operation as above.

Still not finding destination...

I had previously set the static IP address in the Apex as 192.168.1.114

How do I know what IP address the Apex Utility is looking for?

I just found it, duh!

The Apex Utility is looking for host name "Apex"

I simply changed it to my custom host IP address...(192.168.1.114)

Thanks guys for chiming in...Stressed out all morning...

Cheers, TC
