First anemone - LTA vs Sebae

Need some advice, please

Ive got a 180 gallon (70 gallon sump) mixed reef that I'd like to add an anemone to. I've narrowed it down to either a LTA or sebae.

About the tank: This system (6x2x2) is 1.5 years old, lit by 5 radions, flow via 4 MP40s and a 1500 gph return, large skimmer, 4" sandbed and a lot of fish/acropora. I'm moving away from a SPS dominated tank to a more LPS/softy tank. I've been keeping fish/corals for years and feel that I'd like to give an anemone a go.

Any advice to a first time anemone keeper on which species would be the best bet?

Thanks!

My vote is for sebae, I've had both and I prefer the looks of a sebae. Just know that sebaes take to rock and LTA are sand dwelling. Typically, when a sebae finds a spot it doesnt move like a BTA. You can nestle them on a rock next to the sand which I did to keep them low in the tank. Generally, sebae's need more lighting that LTA. No experience with LED lighting for main lights so not sure if its enough for a sebae if you want to keep it low. Many clownfish will take to a sebae too which is a nice bonus.

If I had nice acros I would be cautious with any rock dwelling anemone.

I vote LTA.

Try to find a nice green one, or if you got the $ a purple lta has a deep flourescent purple that is hard to match.

And kudos to you for waiting and doing the research.

My first anemone was a sebae and it's still going strong under my Cree LEDs. I'm sure they would do great under your Radions. It has not moved at all since it found a decent spot and is one of the highlights of my tank. It is a Heteractis crispa. I have no experience with LTA's so i can't say anything for it.
