first anemone tank

I have decided to take the plunge into creating a nano RBTA tank, whats playing with my mind a bit is how im going to help filter the aquarium it is non RR non AIO. HOB is not the route i wanna go, though i might, just scared that a HOB filter will suck up my RBTA? anyone use a HOB? also does anyone keep anemones with nothinng other then simple weekly water changes?

How big is this nano? It is often difficult to say the least to house an anemone is smaller tanks due to the small water volume vs waste that your anemone will produce. not to mention anemones ( even BTA) get a fair size, 16" , and need bigger volumes of water.

i understand that most should not keep anemone's in nano's, but im convinced i am capable of giving this nem a good home, i have seen and heard many other hobbyist keeping them in nanos, i have done my research and feel pretty comfortable with it. also will be prepared to remove the nem if need be. this will be a species only nano, no other corals or inverts. i think i am going to go DIY on my filtration with a internal filter, like the current USA subcurrent filter/ surface skimmer, trying to make this nano as nem safe as possible, maybe ill be ok with that and weekly water changes?

I use an Emperor 400 HOB (converted to filter and macro fuge) in my 20 long. Granted I dont have nems in there yet, but it doesnt really pull enough volume through the intake to really worry much about it. It wont suck in a live brine shrimp unless it brushes against the intake and the filter cover is small enough that the nem would be fine anyway.

Currently I am trying to get my 20 to stabilize enough for a nem to go with my mated pair of Occ clowns. May never happen though and this might just end up being a fancy broodstock tank with WAY too much filtration.
