First anemone

I'm trying to find a relatively peaceful anemone that isn't difficult to keep alive and happy. It's for my 2 false percs to host in, and I really don't want anything that's going to eat anything else in this tank. Suggestions?

They say to wait till your tank is at least six months old. So if you started your tank 2/07..I would wait till August if I were you. They also say..only bad things happen fast. I know waiting sucks but in the long run.. when you don't lose your anemone because you waited..I think its totally worth all the patients.

75 gallon tank running with a bio-wheel-less emporer 400, seaclone 100, MaxiJet 600 x3, and a satellite lighting system (2x 65 watt dual daylight pc, and 2x 65 watt dual actinic pc)

2 ocellaris clowns, 2 female lyretail anthias, 1 midas blenny, and 1 striped bristletooth tang. There's also a tiger striped serpent star, about a half dozen each blue leg hermit crab & scarlet reef hermit crabs, and a snail crew about 24 or so strong.

This tank finished cycling on 2/10/07, it started running on 12/24/06.

the anemone would need to be close to the lights like within 16 inches.

the minimum to wait is usually 6 months you still have a month and a half or so so maybee you can get more light over the tank?

i would wait on the nem read up as much on them as you can and ask lots of questions when you have them.

as far as going with what you got a BTA is my only suggestion but getting OCs to host it will be 50/50.

also how much live rock did you use in your tank?

and if i may suggest:
add a sump/refugia(this will allow you to move all heaters, and extra equipment out of the way)
change the maxijets out for some propeller driven pumps(you can modify MJs, or you can get tunzes, koralias)
upgrade your lighting to 2x250w MH(youll be happier and will have more choices as to what can go in the tank)

P.S. when ever there is a anemone in a tank there will be a chance of it snagging something and eating.

HTH

i agree with them, your lighting is on the weak side. you need to get upwards of 5.5min wpg and with that setup you are only at 3.5. not mention using pc's

What's the problem with power compacts? I've found that the watt per gallon doesn't really matter, it's more about the intensity of the lighting. Now back to my original question, what's a good first try for an anemone? From what my boss at the LFS said bubble tips or long tentacles are my best bet, what do y'all think?
