First Annual ETRC Frag Swap

I just wanted to thank everyone that attended our First Annual ETRC Frag Swap... It could not have been the success that it was if it were not for all that volunteered their time and participated in our event... Everyone that I spoke with was pleased and we even signed a few new members!!!

Again I want to thank all of our sponsors and especially Dennis Tagrin (DT's Phytoplankton) and Reed Mariculture for coming....

Also a special thank you to Eddie and Kathy Neal for all of their efforts with the Church and Concessions... I could not have hoped for a better venue, strategically located and well layed out for the frag swap...

There is little doubt that with the success of this frag swap, there will be more in years to come...

The secret to a successful almost anything worthwhile is planning, dedication, and teamwork. Oh, wait, that is more than one thing.

Kathy and I had planned to do all the kitchen stuff. It would not have worked as well as it did if Ashley and Mel had not pitched in and done such a great job.

Those who did not participate do to lack of interest or maybe other obligations missed out on a good ETRC event, an event in which many of its members worked as a team.

I look forward to an even more successful swap next year. Plans are already in the works.

Mostly Randy however. The BOD somewhat created the event. But, if Randy had not worked so hard to get the sponsors and had not almost, not completely but almost, single handedly promoted the event, it would not have happened.

[Quiet Tempest]

This was my first time at a frag swap and I had a lot of fun just wandering around looking at what everyone had brought and/or bought. The Sustainable Aquatics fish were absolutely gorgeous and I wished I had extra tanks set up for them. Everyone was so nice and my little girl made a few friends, so it was a blast for us. Thank you so much!



P.S. -- That cheese dip was great! I want the recipe!

Thanks to all for a great afternoon swap! It really was a great venue...easy access, well lit, etc. And those grilled cheeseburgers were so tasty! Actually, Matt and I managed to eat 2 brownies each, too. Hope to see everyone again soon!

Excellent job Randy, BOD, and everyone who helped to make it a success. The crowds exceeded my expectations and everyone I interacted with seem pleased with the venue. I was sorry to read the other thread about the malicious act as I too think the reef community is a stand-up group of people.

Awesome swap! Great venue, food, and company. Everything was super organized and went very smoothly from what I could see--all that hard work really showed--a big thanks to all who helped to make it happen!

I'm excited to see how my new frags do; they're mounted under the lights in the 300g--thanks Gary and Chris for those!

My hat's off to the ETRC!! I was VERY happy to see such a great turn out for your first swap. Everyone I talked with was having a great time. The food was great - especially the cheese dip! There must be something addicting in that stuff!! I can't wait to see what you guys pull off next year!! Our 2 clubs have always done a great job of supporting each other! One tradition I hope never fades!!
