First attempt at tank photos

If you hold a magnifying glass in front of the lens it prevents the camera from focusing on the glass due to the angle (same reason why shots from a side angle tend to focus better).

It's a nifty cheep trick for those of us with less skill/fancy cameras!

I'd also agree with the white balance... just put a piece of PVC in the tank and use it to set your balance.

Do the pics look true to life?

The scoly is closer but a little darker than actual life. This is true for the majestic too but it is even darker than actual. They are closer than what I posted but just a little darker than in person.

Thanks Chad. Every now and then you find a diamond in the rough . Thought it looked good when I bought it out of the store but it didn't look anywhere near as good as it does at home.

Yeah, seems when in a more stable and less handled system things look much better. When stores tanks are constantly getting someones hands and new stuff in, old stuff out so the corals never really settle in and look their best .
