First Clams - T. Crocea

I am so pumped. I just bought my first clams through ClamsDirect. I bought two Blue/Green T. Croceas. One is 3" and the other is 3.5". Do I need to feed them DT or iis just the filter feeding from scraping the tank and the 250W MH lights enough for the food source for this size clams?

Also, do most people put these directly on the bottom of the tank in the sand or do people put them on the LR? I have a 28" deep tank. Finally, should I put something under the clams so I can move them around if I need to? If so, what do folks put under their clams.

Thanks

Don't feed non-baby croceas. They live entirely off of light.

Croceas are the only clams that go on the rocks. Becareful of their bysall threads once they attach to the rocks.

He is correct, croceas like it in the rocks (as do many maximas). I prefer to place them on small rocks that can be moved if necessary.

It is not necessary to specially feed them, but they do still retain a percentage of their nutrition from filter feeding. A little phyto in the water will be appreciated now and then,
