was gonna get some sexy anemone shrimp but they ran out and i found a great deal on a coco worm, only 35 dollars! it got some phytoplankton for it and im gonna put some in every once in a while just for some extra food. should i put him in the sand or rock? what kind of flow do they need? any extra tips would be great

My LFS had a few for $20 each so I picked one up as well. I have his tube in the sand, he's somewhat sheltered from flow by the rock I put him at, he seems to be extending well every day with only minor flow near him,

was it rly overpriced? i thought 35 was cheap. i see them for like 60-80@

Can get colored coco-worms locally for $15. These vary from purple to pink. Brown ones are $10.

It also depends on the selection, and competitors. Here in Orlando, there's a single strip with 3 LFS's within about 5 miles. If you normally see them for $60-$80, then you didn't overpay.

They can adapt to higher flow as well. But need to be acclimated with low/low-medium flow. If the flow is too much, the worm will close and you know its time to find slower flow.

THESE sell for $50-$60 locally, when they have them. (Pink/red/yellow)

ifisch, can you help me out in the anemone forum? i have a wierd problem

Sorry, can't help. I hate crabs, now. They walk all over my zoa's and Ric's. I bet they get at most 3-4 hours of light, because for some reason my hermits have no idea they're walking over them.

Sold the hermits (had Halloween Hermits), and going snails only.

Any crab can be bad. I like shrimp and snails. Although a lobster would be cool if I had a bigger tank. Which, unfortunately, I don't at the moment.

Have heard horror stories with emeralds and porcelain (essentially an emerald + a fancy shell)

"Porcelain Anemone Crabs live together in pairs under the protection of an anemone. It may attempt to defend its territory from clownfish that try to establish themselves among the anemone, although the clownfish generally prevails."

"Otherwise, this opportunistic feeder may turn to corals, invertebrates, or small fish for a food source. However, when well fed, most Emerald Mithrax Crabs are very tolerant of their tankmates and highly compatible in reef environments"

I updated the last reply.

That's why I don't like THOSE types of crabs.

Hermits are cool, but when they walk all over my zoa's, I can't stand it.
