First death

So found the remains of one of my hermit crabs this morning, my question is this, should I remove the remains or leave it for the nassarius snails?

Sure it's remains and not a molt?

Either way I typically leave small deaths like this for my CUC to dispose of. It's what we have them for anyways.

You can leave the remains if you want if it died or just take it out and yes crabs do molt like snakes which many confuse as a death..

Let your cleanup crew do its thing! Over the years I've lost all kinds of snails, crabs, shrimps etc. unless you tank is small it won't even cause a blip and it lets your living creatures do their normal "activities"

IF a crab death would harm your tank you don't have enough snails and worms. The tank should be able to handle a demised fish. That's why they call them a CUC.
