I need filter help should i uses bioball or liverock or both puffer will be star of the show .Thanks

It honestly depends. Live rock is a lower maintenance route and most including me will say better. If you want to keep bioballs I'm not totally against it, but I will say you need to clean these weekly. You will have to take a few out and wash them because they can hold crap in them that can create all sorts of bad things for the tank. I kept mine clean and never had a problem for a year... I must say live rock is much easier

Precisely! I'll admit, I'm lazy, and when one has 14 setups up and running, easier is awesome!

yes i have a sump just want to do what is best also just got 150 pounds of live rock but only need 100 or so for reef tank so what i will do is put what's left in fish only and bioballs that sound good. wow 14 teen tanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say either bio-balls OR live rock.... not sure there is a need for both.

Many times it seems like people end up removing the bio balls at a later date since they can become factories......

I have always used bio balls & my 210g is still setup that way. My 475g is my first tank w/o the bio balls.... a few hundred lbs of LR & a few hundred more to buy... ugh :)

The one big advantage of no live rock is you can add/dose chemicals to treat for disease w/o affecting/killing the rock & what's on them.
