First frags

Thinking about picking up my first frags tomorrow.. Anything I should know or do for preparation?
I'm not sure what kind I will get yet.. Not sure what they have honesly.. Although In one tank at the lfs it had the biggest Aptaisia I've ever seen... It was the size of a silver dollar.. And about 3 inches tall..
I won't be buying from that tank

Can you give us the details of your tank. Size, how old, what lights, water parameters, filtration system? Without that, it's a bit hard to advise you as to what corals will work well.

Current tank is a 75 tall.. But I will be moving it all over to my 150 gallon later this week.. I just finished Repairing that tank..
Tanks been up for about 6 months
4 t5 lights
Canister filter atm.. But will be turning the 75 gallon into a sump/fuge once I refill the 150... 150 is a tall tank as well.. 48 wide.. 32 deep 36 tall
Peramiters are all in check.. I can retest if you need all the numbers as I can't remember them off the top of my head.. Salinity is 1.026

Your lights will be on the weak side to support SPS but you can probably handle softies and polyps (zoa's, paly's shrooms, etc) with them. SPS really need to be blasted with light if you want them to grow and color up nicely. I'd probably stay away from anemones and clams as well.

With that in mind, you could have yourself a truly beautiful softies tank. Great size for softies as well.

I really rushed my reef, like really really rushed it. My first corals were a duncan and trumpet. A few weeks later (now) the duncan is doing fantastic and growing a head. Do some duncan, zoas, acans, or hammers. They'll be fine imo

As much as I understand the desire to get cool things for your tank, I have to agree. Anything you get will just be starting to adapt to their new home when they get moved to another new home.

I also agree that with your lights, and the depth of your tank, you will be limited as to what you can keep. You might get away with a few of the "easier" SPS (Montipora sp. comes to mind) higher up, but many LPS and most softies will be very happy.

I was actually thinking about a softy tank..

I will take the advice to wait... I don't want to lol.. But I will.. It will Prolly be for the better..
I do have one stoney coral already tho.. It hitchhiker on a rock.. It's a lil hidden cup corral colony.. But they don't need light from what I've read
