I have screen tops, but because I don't have a sump there is an opening in the back. I just found my b&w ocellaris on the screen. We are so bummed.

I've heard stories of people putting their fish back in water and they miraculously revive. So, poor Mrs. Nemo is in a cup of tank water, but I'm not hopeful. My husband thinks I'm an idiot, but I have to try...

Doo dee DOO doo dee DOO...

She has been taken to her not quite final resting place, the garbage can. What a bummer. She was one of our first fish and as healthy as a horse last night.

Tonight, fish jerky.

I had a clown jump out of a nano tank about a year ago. Just noticed him missing one day. I noticed the lid wasn't on all the way but didn't think much of it. Found it maybe 2 days later under the cabinet that the tank sat on. Not sure how it got out or worked its way under the cabinet. Doesn't take much of a gap in the screen, I suppose.

What is worse than finding an apple in your worm? Finding half a worm.

What is worse that finding your diamond Goby on the floor? Finding half your diamond Goby on the floor.

I even had a glass top on my tank but left the last 2" open for the plumbing. Amazing how they can find the exact place they should not find.

Oh, yeah, sorry to hear about your fish.

And I lost a Purple Tilefish that jumped through 1/2" screen mesh last week. Never thought they could make it through 1/2" mesh!!

Uh Oh!! Sorry to hear all the losses! I suppose I'll have to make sure once my nano is up and running that its got a good fitting top!

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I have only had two fish jump out. One of the fish was a flame angel. It didn't really jump out of the aquarium, but jumped out of the net while moving into my aquarium.

I also had a fire fish jump out of my reef tank through a crack in the back. When I found it, it was dried up and small; I didn't even see it. It was sitting in the middle of the floor in my aquarium room. It would have gone unnoticed if it wasn't for my dog, who started sniffing it.

Sorry about everyones losses.

She jumped on the screen top, so my cat and dog didn't get her, which is, I suppose a good thing. She cooked herself under the lights though, which is maybe a not so good thing.

We are going out of town soon, so it's not a good time for a new fish. It looks like Mr. Nemo will be Mrs. Nemo before too long.
