first nest

Well. The darndest thing happened this week. We had 2 power outages on Monday night due to a lot of strange weather. One was for 2 hours and the other for 1. I don't have a battery powered air pump so I was a little stressed. I am sure that my fish were also stressed.

I'm sure you know the puncline by now but... Last night around 5:00 I saw a big clutch of eggs right on the side of the tank overflow. They were doing all the right dances and he seemed to know what to do to fertilize the eggs. Since this is their first clutch I doubt we'll see many babies and I don't plan on trying to raise them. Both fish are eating fine.

I'll post pictures HERE later today.

Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know. It's their first nest, and mine. The tank is really not as dirty as it looks.

You know when the power goes out in the city many babies are conceived. I guess goes the same with fish. That awesome I someday hope for that to happen to me.
