First Spawn

Love must be in the air in the Bay Area. Not only are my Ps. steenei starting to spawn with some regularity as well as the three pairs of Bangaii Cardinals but I just spotted a patch of eggs in my home display tank that has a pair of A. akindynos!!!

Does anyone have any experience with this species. I know that the adults can be a bit tricky but what about the fry??

Any help would be great!

thanks

Any better pics

The eggs hatched last night. Unfortunately I was not able to get to them till around 12 AM, four or so hours after the lights go out! Luckily I was able to salvage about 50 give or take and place them in a 1/3 filled blackedout out 10 gallon tank. After 18 hours the number is 32.

I was surprised at how large the fry are, much larger then any others that I have seen.

Hopefully I'll have good news tomorrow.

congrats!

I have to get rid of one of my large female clarkii. If you want a nice female for broodstock I'd be happy to see her go to work making babies for you.

Dan,

Right now I dont have room for a clarkii unless the color is OUTSTANDING. That was one of the final species that I was going to set up with breeding because there is less of a demand for them. If you still have her is about a year, I should be in a new facility then and will have the room.

Thanks
