First tank 14 month old

Ptyochromis

New member
Tank size is 29g + a 20g refugium with 6" (70lbs) of sand.
42lbs of LR and ~30lbs of sand in the display.
Salt is red sea cp
Lighting is with 5x par 38leds (2x 54w, 3x 12w)
Skimmer- Aqua C remora pro (added in the last 2 months)
Parameters I shoot for:
sg: 1.0260
temp: 81f
Kh: 8.5-9 dkh
Ca: 420 mg/l
Mg: 1500-1300 mg/l
nitrate: .5
PO4: never over .06

All corals were grown from 1-2" frags.
Most of the LR comes from the Tampa bay saltwater, only 15lbs come from Haiti; which was before I knew what impact LR collection had on the ecosystem.
The intent was to have a skimmerless tank but I added an aqua c remora pro 2 months ago because I grew tired of only having 2 fish lol.
Stocking:
1x disco blenny (Meiacanthus smithi)
1x swisguard basset (Liopropoma swalesi)
1x 6-line wrasse
1x blue/green chromis

Pics (sorry about the plastic bottle, trying to catch a wrasse):

Nice tank. Really like the rockwork. You've done really well growing the frags. They look nicely coloured up too.

Frags look very healthy too with nice polyp extension! Keep doing what you are doing! Honestly this is a VERY nice tank and for a first tank you are doing awesome! :)

Thanks! I don't see what all the fuss is about with sps tbh. I have a harder time with favia lol. All I dose 1/4tsp of kent super buffer dkh with every other top off(I top off 8 cups daily). I do a weekly 13% change and try to do a 26% every 4-6 weeks.

I am battling a slight cyano issue on the sand. I blame detritus buildup from having poor overflow/powerhead placement and lots of LR.

Also have an encrusting monty that has been in a state of near constant bleach for a good 8-9 months but has had zero die back and shows great growth.
