first tank build need advice

i took apart a 10aga and am gonna cut 5-6" off the height and then put it back together as a rimless tank, now im pretty confident the glass is more than thick enough to make it rimless but would like other opinions so i dont end up with a mess on the floor

or should i get something different? its from aga and says its the same one used to manufacture new aquariums, but ive seen some others that say adhesive sealant, what shoud i do?

Don't know about the thickness of the glass, but I would only use rtv series silicone. 103, or 108. Available at granger.
