Not this time. I have heard that the first few hatches don't turn out so well. I have a piece of tile just on the other side of their nem and they passed that up for the side of the tank. Oh well. I am pretty excited though.

Very cool!
Do we all get little cigars that say "Its a Sequential Hermaphrodite"?
:)

:lolspin: funny.

congrats. its fun trying to raise the fry. i would let atleast 8 batches go and try to feed them more. maroons are machines and will lay nests up to or more than 1500 eggs. the eggs will hatch in 6 days in water over 80f.

Thanks for the tip!

There is no reason to let 8 batches go if you are interested in raising the fry. The first 3 ish should be more than fine if you are feeding the broodstock well.

They have shrunk rather than grown in size. I don't think my male fertilized them correctly. He is still tending to them but I don't expect them to hatch. Plus we were knocked out of power for about 24 hours, the tank temp dropped to 74, I'm sure that didn't help matters.
