First visit to CRS - Great Guys!

While waiting to look at a tank listed on Craigslit yesterday, I killed some time by visiting the Coral Reef Shop. Jerry and Adam were tending shop (I hope I remembered their names correctly). I was probably in there for 75 minutes and about 80% of the time Adam followed me around and answered every single one of my questions. I'm still stunned at the level of attention CRS gave me. Being a complete newbie to the hobby, it was just what I needed. It was awesome. Sadly, I didn't buy anything from them yesterday, but I was so impressed, I will certainly be going back. I already know what my first purchase will be there. Just gotta figure out the finances first.

I just wanted to post up here how wonderful the visit was. I'm very appreciative of the personal touch they provided. I had great fun looking over every single item they had in stock.

Thanks, CRS!

Mark,

I have to agree. I have been very impressed with CRS with their great customer service! The Sacramento area is lucky that we have some really good LFS opening up in the last couple of years.

i'll third that... i just p/u some a few nice fishes from them... talked with them for a while and watched the fish for even longer before i decided to buy. brian assisted and provided great info on the fish which made my decision easier. even gave me the mars discount :) 2 thumbs up for CRS.

First time I was in the store, I was looking for a red sea sailfin. They had one in stock, but couldn't decide if I wanted it. I stared at the fish for about 30 minutes. Brian offered to hold the fish for me for two weeks to see if it would fatten up. He even offered to order some more so I can pick out the one I wanted. Now that is customer service! Kudo to Brian and his staff.

Those of you who live in that area are really lucky. You have Coral Reef Shop, Your Reef and Harbor Freights (yeah - not fish related) so close by. For me - it's a 35+ minutes journey. :(

CRS is definately a force in sac. Very nice people and probably the cleanest store around.

I heard a rumor it was for sale, anyone else heard this?

I definitely agree that CRS is a great shop. Awesome store, awesome people.

I really hope that they're not selling it!

Dang, I haven't heard this. I hope Brian and Jamie stick it through, I would hate to see a good shop close or change owners :(

Keep us updated!

I was not trying to scare anyone or start something. This is what I heard, but it may just have been the wind :)

Anything is possible, but the last conversation I had with Brian left me with the distinct impression that he was committed. Not at all what I would expect if someone were contemplating a sale...

My brother and I go there fairly often... I just wanted to say that CRS is one of the cleanest and friendliest shops in Sacramento.

I make the drive from Elk Grove often because of their customer service. Hope you guys stick around for a little longer!

I really like that store - they consistently have the nicest stuff around - I always leave not having gotten half of what I wanted - because they have such fantastic stock.

The last place left because of the lease, possibly the same situation.

If they have a big enough customer base, if this is the situation, (and we should probably confirm the validity), I would imagine they would move to another location.

Hopefully more accessible, I find the place out of the way for me but I imagine convienent for those of you on that side of town.

And yes, Yourreef did have the PE Mysis. I heard everyone was out of it for a couple of weeks due to over harvesting and they had to catch back up. As difficult as Dragonets are to get to eat frozen food, running out and not being able to find any becomes a big problem. Lucky for him he is fat.
