Can anyone tell me how long a 10 percent water change should typically take? I am attempting this for the first time and I obviously would like to keep the inhabitants alive. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

55g
zooanthids, mushrooms, and various fish
ph 8.2
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 20 ppm

Thanks

as long as the temperature and salinity are a match for the tank , it can go as fast as you like, my water changes start to finish might take 10 minutes when doing them manually, when I let my waterchange rig do it, it takes overnight

as long as the temp and perimeters of the new saltwater are the same as the main tank jus drain 5 or so gallon and pour the new back in...a bit slo of course . better through the sump if you have one though!

I change 10 gals on my 55. I mix it upstairs in a seperate 10 gal tank over night. I syphon out and syphon back in with a 1 1/4" I.D. vynil hose. Takes 10min.

drain out the tank and fill in the sump. also, don't forget about your heater...make sure you unplug everything that is giong to be exposed

Ditto here.

I have a spare powerhead, i blocked off the venturi with a piece of hose and use it to slowly fill the sump while draining it off from the T connected to my Mag7 output.

Takes 5-10 mins to do 2 jugs (10gallons.)
