Fish and Lettuce

I have fed my Tang Romaine and leaf lettuce. Darker greens are more nutritious. I have not read of anything bad with such feedings. Several fish keeping books have recomended it. Not saying Nori should not be used, but don't rule out Romaine and leaf lettuce!..

I've also heard dark green leafy is fine (no "iceberg" or any of that kind). I also feed my tangs broccolli soaked in garlic and they love it.

I fed my urchin romaine for a long time while I was learning that it could eat as much macro algae as I could afford to put in the tank. :)

He's now a giant amongst urchins, but I've switched to feeding him seaweed. The seaweed seems to last longer in the tank, with the benefit that the hermits and other critters eat it too.

My fish never touched the romaine, but they'll nibble at seaweed.
