Good luck looking for that on there, it may be scattered over 50 pages or so.
But basically I don't have any test kits, dosers, controllers, reactors, refractometers, Vortec's, or anything else but a basic fish tank.
I don't think I could keep my reef going without one. I use it a few times a year to blast the rocks and thoroughly stir up the gravel all the way to the UG filter. Typhoons happen at sea and they happen in my tank. That is the reason my tank does not get Old Tank Syndrome and just about all tanks will if you don't do some serious maintenance after ten years or so.
Any advantage of using a real diatom filter vs using a empty RO/DI canister with a .5um sediment filter? or even better a dual canister setup with a 1um and a .2um filter?
I typhoon my tank every week (although don't stir the sand too much), but right now i just use a fine mesh fish net, but have been thinking about a more effective method of filtering.
Any pump that will remove most of the detritus will work. I just have diatoms from my freshwater days. I have about 5 of them but only one really working one. The rest I use for parts because they are not built very well.
You could tattoo it on your forehead if you like, but you would have to do it in reverse so you could read it in a mirror. But yes, you can post anything I write anyplace, most people post my writings on bathroom walls. :sad2:
