Fish 'Bodyguards'

Dick Perrin (Tropicorium, Detroit, MI) used to have a lot of Clown Gobies in his SPS vats to protect the corals. He removed the fish when he finally realized they were doing more harm than good.

No fan of Clown Gobies in reef aquaria here.

In the ocean- great!

I just have one and not many SPSs. Mine tends to hide in the Kenyas and Colts (he used to live in the big branching hammer until the clowns kicked him out, never seen him nip anything, but I may just be lucky.

those gobies make good SPS "bodyguards" but (selectively) damage SPS- not hammers or Kenya Tree IME

it's a type of symbiotic relationship
