fish breeding lucrative?

I see that some of you guys have been breeding fish successfully for quite some time. I've read Wilkerson's Clownfish and know it is difficult, particularly in the beginning, and the entire process of egg to fry and beyond must be very personally rewarding.

I'm wondering what you guys do with the fish once they are old enough to be sold. Do you sell them to the LFS, to online vendors, etc? Has anyone set-up an area, like in a heated garage, storage unit or store front, solely for breeding fish?

I bought a juvi Black Onyx Perc from Rod and if I remember correctly, it was $75.00. I know Onyx Perc's are rare and the price reflects that.

I guess I'd just like to get people's experience with breeding and selling.

Thanks,

If you are thinking about doing it for money, I'd say don't waste your time, if you are doing it for fun go ahead.
Be prepared to spend at least 3-4 hours everyday taking care of fry, cleaning tanks etc. If you're lucky its a break even venture, we do it for the challenge and fun. You'll find you'll dry up in local markets in a hurry.

I agree with dew2loud1. It is a lot of fun as a hobby. For profit- no way.

I only have one pair so I spend about 1/2 hour a day taking care of fry.

it all depends on what you consider lucrative.
if you want to break even- then maybe-
