I'm working on 2 Pakistani butterflies now myself but theyre eating live brine and swallowing, flakes/mysis they eat but spit back out.. gotta find their flavor maybe krill or real meat..

Mike,

Try some of those frozen food mixes like Formula One. They like to pick, so often pressing it into an old coral skeleton or a piece of plastic mesh stuck to the bottom of the tank works well Perhaps even an aiptasia covered rock, though I haven't tried it with that particular species of butterfly.

theres a copperband with them as well in a quarantine system for future tank setup.

I just came home to find my Chevron dead also. I just bought him last Friday for $80 too.

This is the fourth Chevron that I've tried in the past year and I think I'm jinxed.

Go to the supermarket and buy some small live clams. Break one open and drop in the tank. It may take a little while but I am keeping butterflies and it has not failed me yet. I have a Semi-Lavatus,Saddleback,Pakistani(collare),Meyersi,and a Racoon, the growth on these fish has been tremendous

yesterday i made a mix from krill and baby brine shrimp.. food processed them both together with new life spectrum anti parisitic formula.. they didnt eat much but they didnt spit either so im on the right track.

do i chop the clams up or what?

It bugs me out, I don't understand why I have no luck with the Chevrons.
The one's I attained were from Reef Exotics - hand picked, SDC - unseen, Pet's of NHP - hand picked & Pet Warehouse - hand picked.
I'm careful to make sure that they are not bullied but they all only last a few days to a week or two.

I didn't think that they were a hard species to keep in captivity.

Wow, that's some horrible luck. (mekes me feel better though, this is the first fish I've had that just never acclimated well. )

Are they just wasting away/not eating?

yea I saw those chevrons in PW and Pets...I was tempted too, but glad I didn't. I even was tempted by a nice tomini bristletooth, same family(ctenochaetus) and didn't get it either only because I have a powder blue.

just got a Lineatus Fairy Wrasse and i can't believe how much it eats. eats brine and nori.
