WE HAVE A LOOKDOWN FISH THAT APPEARED TO HAVE LITTLE WHITE SPOTS (NOT ICH). THE FISH ALSO PRESENTED WITH AN OPEN MOUTH, ATE WELL YESTERDAY, BUT WAS FOUND DEAD THIS AFTERNOON.

WE ALSO HAVE A MELANARUS WRASSE, PRESENTING WITH AN OPEN MOUTH AND MISSING SCALES ON SIDE (OVAL SHAPE, DIME SIZE) - THE CHOCOLATE TANG IS ALSO PRESENTING WITH WHITE SPOTS AND NO APPETITE.

ALL FISH ARE IN A SMALL REEF WITH SOFT CORALS (90 GALLON TANK) - ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

What makes you think it isn't Cryptocaryon? This disease can give a variety of symptoms, sometimes not what you would expect. Are the spots larger or smaller than typical Crytpocaryon trophonts?

The open mouth is usually not seen until the later stages of Cryptocaryon, so if the spots are really tiny, you might be battling Amyloodinium. However, the missing scales on the wrasse (can you get a picture of this?) could be Uronema.

What is the fish's respiration rates? You can try counting their gill beats in 15 seconds and then multiplying by 4.

What is the history of the fish - when was the last one introduced, etc.

My Bristle Tooth Tang has had a few Ich like patches if you look close they look like little tuffs of cotton but it does not seem to affect him at all. I will post some pics - but he will not sit still long enough for me to take a good pic.
