fish eating clownfish?

is it possible that my two clowns ate one of the chromis fish in my tank? i woke up one morning and could not find one of the chromis. i checked the filter. lifted up all of the live rock. and have been keeping track of parameters and odor. i still unable to find the fish a week later now

Do you have an anemone in the tank? I have seen clowns pick off smaller fish and shove them into the anemone. that might be it

With Chromis its more likely the other Chromis beat it to death. Common occurance with those fish in my experience.

ok..that makes sense. i just couldnt believe that there were no remains of the dead chromis.

Have any crabs or snails? They usually make quick work of a dead fish.

Depending on the anemone its a good possibility but I'd say the clean up crew got it... Chromis are notorious for picking each other off down the line.

I personally hate chromis, the last one out of the 6 I had kept beating up on the new baby B&W so I decided to give my Hadoni a little treat... Problem solved, happy Hadoni and happy baby B&W =)
