Fish food

I am curently setting up reef tank and am wondering about how to establish the proper colonies of copepods and other things my fish will eat. My tank has sump with refugium built in.

Any suggestions. Do i just go lfs and buy some of the potions they sell? Any recommendations of products?

I think most good LFS sell pods in a bottle, tigger and arctipods. Either one is fine. Sometimes they're just on your rock and if there are no fish, they'll produce like mad. I'm sure there's plenty in your fuge already

Tigger Pods will bloom for a short period in a new tank but then be displaced/wiped out by other, more competitive pods. The issue is that they have no serious competition in their natural habitat and are therefore ill equipped to deal with predators and competition.

Best is to get a hand full of live rock rubble from a well established tank.

I also found that the algae (halimeda, chaetomorpha and the various red algae) you can buy form LiveAquaria or Blue Zoo are full of pods - ordering a few different species of algae and put them in your tank or refugium should give you a nice variety of pods.
