Fish Food

I have been trying to mix up the food I give my fish. Sometimes I am just lazy and give them something easy for me. Thanks to ken I got motivated to make my own mix of frozen foods. I remembered link to Melevs Reef . What great site. And the after a trip to the local Asian market I was ready. Or was I? First I recommend buying your wife a new blender before you start. As I didn't, and my wife came home early from work, you can imagine the trouble I was in. Then there is the unique smell. NOTE THIS WILL NOT TURN YOUR WIFE ON.

I bought these from the Asain Market

Ice cube tray free from Ken. Makes it easy to grab and go if I am in a hurry. Bought 5 more on line for the next batch.

The next time will be cheaper still. I used the Mysis and the Brine shrimp because I had them already but wont in the next batch. I will continue with the silversides because the are always a hit with all the fish. I have plenty of clam, seaweed, vitamins, garlic and nori left

Almost forgot:
New blender $60
Fish Food Mix $23

The look on your wife's face when she sees you used her blender - Priceless

hey just an idea...but maybe you could sell the bags of stuff??? i know im to lazy to go to an asian mart and i throw in random stuff in my tank and pellets when im lazy but id buy a bag? you said like 23 bucks and u got 4 bags? sell it 10 bucks a bag...i mean yea make money and we get plenty of food

Al , That's incredible!! You got the bug. But hey, you forgot the fresh salmon steak and perhaps, squeeze in a few capsules of Omega 3 fish oil to round it out.

That Sea Chem Reef Plus is GOOOOD stuff. I always add a cap full to my cup of saltwater and frozen BS , mysis and whatever for feeding. it keeps the fish healthy and the corals perked up. 5 ml per day is great for my many tanks. Garf uses it religiously too. My fish never get sick. Reef Plus vitamins are good.

Alright, am I the only one who read BS in Ken's post and had to think about what he meant?

Next time that you are making a batch of food let me know, I can supply some phyto plankton of a few different strains that your corals and clams and the like would appreciate.

Yeah its like crack. I only feed every other day now with some supplementation of nori. I use a little extra for the clowns. They are more carnivorous so they get a little extra. They hang out near the top 2 corners so it is easy to target feed them.

I made this food on 11-10-07 and I have yet to finish 1 bag. By the end of Februrary, I will probably finished 1 bag. Thats 3 months on a bag. My original 4 bags will last a year!

I gave one to Craig just to see how it worked for him, haven't heard yet.
