Setting up a 60 sps cube and trying to decide on fish. I will def have a pair of either occelaris or percs, a tail spot blenny, maybe some mccoskers, but I don't want a screen so maybe not, going to try a flame angel but if it picks at sps it's gone. Anyways trying to decide on a nice center piece type of fish. Looking for suggestions. I like purple tangs and copper band butterflies, any other suggestions or reasons on not choosing one of those would be Great thatnks!

I too like purple tangs. If you get a small one around 2 inches it might be ok for a little while but will most likely need to be rehomed eventually.
I was always hesitant putting any tang in my 4ft 60 gallon when I had it and always opted for smaller fish. If I were you I would skip a tang.
If you like purple color and want peaceful fish then consider a Helfrichi Firefish. They are not as common as their Purple and Red cousins and make a great reef addition.
I had owned a 4.5 inch supermale Lineatus fairy wrasse. He was a true beauty before contracting Ich and dying during copper treatment. Great show fish that doesn't require as much space as a purple tang.

Good luck with the new tank! personal experience- I know many people say their flame angel isn't reef safe. I have had mine for over 2 years. It's really chubby and well fed and he doesn't touch my clam nor corals. But warning they are very aggressive so you must add it LAST. Copper band imo is very tricky especially trying to get one to eat (and 60 might just be a bit tight for it. Yellow tang is much lower maintenance. If I were you, I'd try to get a school of 6-10 cardinals of any sort as they school nicely, and do not fight like chromes or damsels. You should definitely consider a pair of pistol shrimp and a goby, they have so much personality and really fun to watch.

The only Tang I would consider would be a Bristletooth. And definite no's to any kind of Wrasse or Firefish without a top. Although even Clowns are known to jump from open to tanks...
