hi Guys
Im going to have to let my Blue Face angel go. Hes been with me since a little juvi/changling for morthan 1 year, hes transformation is nearly complete & hes starting to get a bit bolder. Since I no longer have a tank for fish, both him and a Pinktail TRigger with need new homes. they are eating everything I throw at them including flakes.

Blue Face angel $125 (morethan 5") nice & thick
Pink Tail Trigger $50 (morethan 5") eats like it was his last meal

I will try to get a decnt pic, locals only no shipping. Hopefully someone from LIRA gets them. both guys are in my sump, easy collection.

never saw them nip at anything. But Warren says they eventually will. So I would stay away from them. this is why I cant keep them too.

Andrew had a lot of guts when it came to Angels with clams and corals, but I think that your chances of peaceful cohabitation are very slim with almost any Angel.

are you saying he was able to keep angels in reef, or just had guts? 'coz my Blue face has not touched anything when he was changing, never even seen hime pick on rock, very reclussive & only come out to eat if I step away enough

I know it often didn't work out, but I think he had a couple of success stories. The "didn't work out" part is what scares me away.
You know who I'm talking about, right? Montipora.

i'vr tried dwarfs and a queen angel. all ended up having a taste for clams and sps.

andrew was lucky. but as with most angels it usually doesn't work out.

That's the point. There are a LOT of people that try things in the hope that they will get "lucky"
I know at least one guy in this forum that undoubtedly has TOO MANY Tangs in his tank. (we don't need names) He claims that luck is on his side and everything is fine.

Also keep in mind that the Angel that doesn't eat your ornamental clams today, might tomorrow. It's a crap shoot, and you have to ask yourself if you're willing to deal with the consequences if it doesn't work out. I for one, am not.

my angels both love clams and mussels havent nipped at any of my shrooms / rics / devils hand / anemone.

so im keeping hopeful on that but i dont have any sps

larry,

the unnamed one i am not much better then. 5 tangs in a 90. but the difference is i do weekly not quaterly water changes. lol

you are better off with tangs then angels. at least the tangs don't eat the corals and clams. they poop as much though. its like anything if you want more fish you have to do the extra maintaince to keep them.

There comes a point where no amount of maintenance can make up for stocking "issues" but that's a subject for 170,000 other threads ;)
For now, it looks like just about everyone agrees that Angels don't mix well with clams and stony corals.

My tangs are all happy. Ask Ray, Bill or even John Link as they all saw my tank today. What i do works for me. Would it work for someone else? Maybe. Larry you really do need to see my tank one of these days. Ill make a believer out of you yet LOL
