He's been acting funny for a week , I've had him for about a month, his mate is acting normal still. I did notice rough texture in the first white stripe behind the eye, it's the same pattern on both sides and I didn't notice if it was always there. Is their poo suppose to be white and stringy or is it a sign of disease. His actions are the same as when the they sleep, he just stays that way all day now. Any ideas on this would be helpful!!!

This is usually a symptom of an internal parasite. Typically, a worm in its digestive system. Basically, it feeds on all the nutrients of whatever the fish ingests, slowly starving the fish. I think this is why the poo is clear and stringy instead of colored and clumpy.

You'll want to try some dewormer medication to have a shot at saving him.

Good luck!

Any infection of the digestive system will cause white stringy feces. If it is a parasite, does it eat? Most parasites cause the fish to be perpetually hungry and always searching for food because the nutrients are being "stolen" from the host. Clownfish also get "clownfish disease" which is viral, causes clamped fins, white stringy feces, weight loss, and some color distortion. They also usually just lose energy and sit in one place sometimes even ignoring thier anemone. Also any stress or infection usually causes the parasites to explode, meaning the fish now has more then one problem. The same is true of a parasite infection, the fish is weakened so now more suseptable to other illness.
