Fish Ick help

So I had 4 fish die from ick over 6 weeks ago. I have 2 fish left in the tank (green chromis) that I had thought were going to die too, but didn't. They seem to be healthy. Is it okay to add more fish now or do I need to try and capture the 2 chromis and move them to QT and let the tank go with no fish for 6 more weeks? Thanks!

no, it is not okay to add more fish and yes, you need to remove both fish and qt/put them through tank transfer. leave your dt fishless for 72 days. as long as there are fish in your dt, there will be ich as the fish will act as hosts to the parasite.

It is unclear if you had ich, uronema or velvet. Ich normally overwhelms fish eventually rather than killing quickly. Describe the time line and symptoms of the fish that died.

The fish died over a period of 2 1/2 weeks I'd say. Started with a Yellow Tang looking like he had fluffy white spots. I had recently added several fish that had already been thru QT and I think it just stressed him out because I also added a shrimp and that shrimp took over the Yellow Tangs cave. Even these 2 chromis looked a bit bad for a bit but got better. I guess I will try to catch them and move to a QT. Thanks
