Fish ID

I bought this along time ago as a melanarus wrasse (which it is not). Any help is appreciated....finally got a good pic of it after almost 2 years!

Wow that fish is beautiful! Where did you get it? How long have you had it? What kind of behavior does it display in your tank?

I got him at a LFS. Most peaceful fish in my tank!

I did a search for H. argus and didn't really come up with anything on google. I checked live aquaria and blue zoo and neither one of them had that fish...?

Try the full name: Halichoeres argus. When people post the scientific name for a fish, they should list the full name for the first time. For subsequent appearances of the name, it can be shorten'd, like H. argus.

I tried that as well and no fish stores came up at all.

I saw one or two places that had the fish at one point but didn't currently have it in stock. This is definitely the most curious fish I have. Any time my hand is in the tank, he's inspecting what I'm doing.

Definitely a great fish (and has stayed relatively small too)
