Fish in Hiding -- Day 9

Torch, my dwarf Fireball angel, has secluded himself in my Marshall Island LR for nine days straight. My theory was that he was injured/really scared by a piece of LR that toppled.

He's been out of his hidey hole only once that I know and I didn't see any visible injuries to him at that time.

He seems to be more and more active in his lair and he comes to the peeking hole when I drop food down in there.

Has anyone had a fish go into hiding like this? Any stories, advice, or suggestions on where to go to get advice? Shall I keep waiting, try to lure/shoo him out, or take the rock apart to check on him?

Any stories/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Lynn

I have had fish go into hiding for various reasons. If you have seen him. he may have been just shaken up. I would not take apart the live rock for risk of shaking him up more, or actually injuring him for real. Good that he is feeding from his peeking hole. Keep waiting
No chance of other fish picking on the Angel??

I really don't have another fish that would pick on Torch. I have two false percs that keep to themselves, two scissortail gobies that hang out in the rocks, and one lawnmower blenny that occasionally squabbles with Torch over the seaweed.

Day 10 today and Torch still is in the rocks. I think he and the scissortails are having a poker tournament.

Thanks so much for replying!

I hope you were not in the path of the recent fires in OK!

As long as Torch takes snack breaks from the tournament, should be fine!!
We have been out of harms way so far. We are all praying for rain!
Thanks for asking.
Bobby
