Fish list for 5ft 156g

This is my first draft of the possible fish that I want in the tank I am in the process of setting up. I would take the anthias and/or blue throat trigger off this list first before any others. I do not plan on having any inverts in this tank other than an anemone if I ever find one I like enough. The rock work will be very open, islands with some hiding places. The fish with the asterisk are in my current 40 breeder.

personally i would remove the labouti ( IME can be a pain with lineatus and rhomboid ) and possibly the blue star ( my meleagris kills any other leopard in my 210 but it might be just mine replace with maybe a flasher perhaps. other than that should be ok without the trigger.

I have unfortunately heard/read too many times about a Labouti being super aggressive towards other wrasse but if I ever come across one for a good price and a smaller specimen I would shoot myself if I didn't buy it! I put it on the list as a possible specimen, but honestly I would rather have a rhomboid and lineatus. To me that's an easy choice.

The trigger I added because it is an interesting fish to say the least. I love the look of triggers and the way they swim, but I will never have a tank big enough or a FOLWR to keep one in. I never really considered a trigger until I saw Mr. Saltwater Tank (who I happen to share a last name with), put one in his big new tank. I then did some research and fell in love with them. I know it will be a throw of the dice if I decide to put one in the tank, but again, if I find a small enough specimen and for a good price then I may have to pull the trigger! :lmao:

I had an ornate leopard in my tank not too long ago but I lost it when my daughter was born. Long story short, I was in the hospital much,much longer than expected and didn't really touch the tank (other than feeding it) for about a month. I found the ornate on the sandbed pale and lifeless a few days after I got home. It was in my tank from February to about the end of May or the beginning of June and got along fine with the meleagris in that time.

I have the same dims as your new tank and I recently added a male blue throat. The stars aligned - I found a small enough one to feel comfortable adding him for now. I probably could have gotten a better price though. He's a great fish so far - fairly timid interactions with the other fish, but he loves food He eats anything and everything that goes into the tank, even herbivore food.

I generally like to keep fish that are very small; I'll probably relocate him eventually.
