fish list

that guy

Hi everyone. I currently have 2 false percs, a 6 line wrasse and a spotted mandarine dragonet in my 38g tank. All of the fish are juveniles. I am not currently running a skimmer but plan on adding one within the month. Mt question is after I instal the skimmer would I be able to add a pair of bangaii cardinals or would this be overstocking. I am interested in trying to breed them and I 'm hoping it would be ok to add both. What do you guys think? If I can't I'll probably get a flasher wrasse instead of the cardinals.

Your six line will probably make it hard to add anything, especially a relatively passive fish like banggais.

The sixline is also extremely likely to harass to death or outright kill any other wrasses in such a small tank.

I think you have too many species that require the same food, you are going to need alot of copepods/reef pods for those guys to eat. They will clear out any source you currently have quick and then starve if you dont have a good healthy reproducing population. Most likely you'll have to supplement pods every week and that can get expensive.

Sorry thats my bad I forgot to mention that the mandarine eats mysis. He was labeled as wild caught but I think it was a mislabel because he ate mysis right away. Twice a day I feed him mysis piece by piece with a turkey baster and he has fattened up considerably. At the lf's I don't think they were giving him the care he needed but from what I can tell he is very happy always swimming around the tank and the 6 line doesn't even look at him.

6 line is gonna do bad things one day...imo, mandy still needs a huge amount of pods to be fully satisfied....as mentioned above the 6 will snag them all away from the mandy....sorry...

Well you guys are probably right. I'll stay with the fish I have. Thanks all of you for your suggestions. Now hopefully the six line won't go beserk like some of you said.
