Fish list

I currently have two Cinnamon Clowns and I am getting ready to add some more fish...my list of fish considering are:

Bi-color angel or Flameback Angel
Midas Blenny or Bi-color Blenny
Pearly Jawfish
Blue, Tennenti, Powder Blue or Bristletooth tang

My tank is approx 100gallons, but is short and wide (3' x 2')....given this, which tang do you think will do best in the setup. Also, will the Jawfish and Blenny get along...or will they fight. Any suggestions or comments on fish selection will be appreciated.

Personally, I'd nix any tang, simply due to the length of your tank.
I won't even keep one in my 5 foot 120 as I think they need more room.
Flameback angels are lovely little fish and IMO, hardier than the bicolor. I've kept jawfish before but not with blennies so can't comment on the compatability but I know my midas blenny was a jerk and was always nipping the tail on a large fairy wrasse and butterfly. Jaws are also skittish and won't do well if harassed. Hopefully someone will comment.
Cinnamon clowns eh? Great fish but can be quite territorial once established. I'd watch whatever else you put in there and make sure the clowns are going to hurt it, particularly small specimens. Cinnamons I've kept have been nasty buggers.
Ever considered one of the pretty fairy wrasses? Is the tank reef or fish only?

My cinnamon clown does fine with my other fish which are a six line wrasse and a pajama cardinal, Bi-color Blenny. My friend has a Flameback Angel and it does fine with his other fish and it eats aptaisa. Pearly Jawfish are great but if your tank is open anywhere he will jump out, they are best for nano cubes and the like. In the long run yellow tangs are great for algae mabe have just one.

IMHO you can have the jawfish and both blennies, either angel & a bristletooth tang
The jawfish needs an open area of deep sand away from the rocks - if you don't have enough room for that , it will likely relocate numerous times & be much more likely to jump or become ill & die
The bicolor blenny will hang out on the rocks mostly
The midas will prefer the water column
Since the bristetooth tangs are smaller & have more cryptic grazing habits, I'd say it's ok as long as you have lots of LR with tons of tunnels, holes etc. No way should you get any of the other tangs.

How tall is your tank? It might be perfect for a mating pair of cherub angels - angels like to rise in the water column when spawning -- my 100g is not really tall enough for my flames or my mandarins even though they try anyway.

Once your tank is established enough with pods etc.- you might want to consider getting a pair of spotted mandarins - mine mate every evening- but they always hit the top of the water - sometimes it startles them & they run for the rocks

The active swimming of the tang is not something angels appreciate when spawning by the way. Especially if it decides for some reason that it should try & interfere. One of my anthias likes to try & break up any tank spawning - my cherub angel will try & break up the flames but ignore the mandarins. Guess he thinks there are enough angels in the tank. ;)

Thanks for the replys!!!

If memory serves me correctly, the tank is 26 inches tall. In mostly place I have 3-4 inches of substate which I am not sure is enough for a jawfish. I was lucky enought to get some LR and sand from an establiched tank, so I already have a lot of pods -- also just discovered that I got a pistol as a hitchhiker, so now I am considering a gobbie. When I created the rock scape, I made it with a lot of caves/tunnel and places to hide.

I wanted a tang because the ones that I have seen have had great personalities, but also want to make sure it survives -- any other tangs that you think will do well in my setup?
