Came home from work to find my scribbled angelfish had a nice chunck of flesh missing from above it's eye. I have an emperor and a scribbled in my SPS reef. The tank is a total of 300 gallons. The emperor was in the tank for about a month prior to the scribbled. The scribbled is about two inches larger than the emperor. The scribbled is so timid and the emperor is so aggressive. I plan on adding more angelfish to the reef. I understand that I have to remove the emperor introduce the other fish and then bring the emperor back in after about one month time.
Since the scribbled was injured and this fish is such a ham, i mean it literally lets me pet it. It swam right into my trap without any effort. It has an insatiable appetite. I moved the scribble into my 120 gallon refugium. it is by itself so it can heal, in the same system water. Does anyone have an idea how long it takes for a flesh wound to heal? Approximate of course. The fish is very healthy. I will need to watch out for bacteria infections. I was thinking of feeding Dr G antibacterial frozen. The scribble will eat just about anything. Wondering how you all deal with injured fish?
