Fish Only with some coral suggestion

I originally was going to set up a reef tank, but have changed my mind. I want to set it up with Fish only with live rocks and maybe some coral.

The tank is a 90g bow front/sump/skimmer/VHO & MH lamps.

What kind of fish, coral, LR combination would you recommend?
I would like lots of color for fish and active swimmers.

Thanks.

first i would advice againts VHO i would advice with T-5 they use less electricuty and put out less heat. Also clowns are a good starter fish after your cycle though

Also if you are not going with SPS you dont need MH as that would be alot of heat going in. You could go with all T-5
LPS do fine under florecents.

The lights were part of the set up right now, but I will change it to a retro-fit. Thanks.

But again, I'm looking for more fish suggestion and some coral suggestion, Fish mainly.

ie: copperband, different angels, wrasses, tangs?

most angels may be incompatible with most lps and clams(e.g. open brains, etc)

go with various softies as they are tolerant of lower water quality and less light than sps.

Well I would personaly suggest the Malinaurus (spelling?) wrasse. Its really sweet looking and it has not bothered any of my corals or inverts.

Fish primarily, coral second. I already have a reef tanks. I want to focus on fishes that are compatible with each other. Maybe I'll just forget the coral all together. that should be easier.

There are a lot of reef safe fishes out there. It's really a personal preference imo. I have bartlett's anthias, dispar anthias, lyretail anthias, clownfish, mystery and flame wrasse, firefish, hippo tang in my sps dominated reef. You could google reef safe fishes and that'll give you a list to work with. HTH.

Ever thought of putting in a couple of tangs ... blue, yellow and purple. Should have no problems with the any corals you decide to get. Good luck to you.

Nothing is more relaxing than watching a large angel (Queen, Regal, blueface) swimming in a tank. Also a school of black and white heniochus.

if you're on a budget:
- Sunburst anthias
- midas blenny
- flame angelfish
- yellow tang
- mc coster's flasher

If you dont mind spending more:
- multicolor angelfish
- 2 flame wrasses
- laboutei wrasse
- borbonious anthias

if you're a millionaire
- joculator angelfish
- 2 rhomboid wrasses
- 2 lineatus wrasses
- gem tang

***edit***
as for corals just go w/a bunch of zoos and one type of softie ie: xenia and let it take over.

here are some fish that i'm interested in.
Any on there that might cause problems or concern?
