Hey guys, decided to go fish only. Is there anything that I should be aware of. Live vs. fake rock? Sand vs. Crushed coral? I would appreciate any feedback from those that have done it. TKS.
Sand gives you more surface area and tends to trap less detrius => cleaner.
Live rock will allow your tank to stabilize faster, but dry base rock will be functionally the same after a few months. Fake rock depends mostly on its composition - very difficult to generalize.
