Fish prefer to behind the rock work?

I feel like my fish prefer being on the opposing side of the rock rather than on the front side. Tank is a 72gal bow front. Would it be a bad idea to add additional rock on the opposing side to fill it in? As of now none of my rock touches the glass except a little bit on the left side. I have been told that usually you do not want to lean rock against the glass due to the creation of dead spots and what not.

What would you guys recommend I do to enforce the fish swim in front of the rock work rather than behind it? Additionally, if I am adding a fair amount of rock, let's say 20lbs, if that, would it affect my tanks cycle?

How long has the tank been set up? The fish are likely to come to the front of the tank as they become more accustomed to their new home. Always feeding them at the front of the tank will help. As long as you have good flow in the tank a few lower flow areas are fine, but I doubt blocking the swimming lanes in the back of the tank will help bring the fish to the front of your tank. If you add more than 10% of your current tanks rock I would recommend cycling it in a separate container like a Brute trash can before placing it in your tank.

The rock and majority of fish were originally in a 29 then moved to the 72. I'd say the 72 has been running for about 4months roughly. The fish do come to the front of the tank, but I feel like more action happens behind it. It could just be me and my desire to have more rockwork [emoji16]
I ways feed in the top front right corner. When the return pump goes off and my gyre goes off fish know it's food time. Mainly my blue tang swims back and forth in the back(I know tank is a bit small for her). While typing this I'm really debating on my situation or if I'm creating a reason to just add more rock. The thing I'm also neglecting is more rock means less water, less room.

I think I should probably just leave everything as is rather than disrupt it. However I do want to add some shelf rock to create some overhangs and shaded spots. Maybe get my shrimp to come out more often.

You can try adding a powerhead in the back. Might make the fish want to be more up front to get away from the turbulence.

And please have a plan to move the Blue Tang into more appropriate housing.
