I have a Yellowstripe Maroon Clownfish who is hosting a rose anemone. The rose anemone is quite large. This is in a 14g tank, with 2 cleaner shrimp. I added a 6 line wrasse. The wrasse is beautiful and seems very calm. The problem is the clownfish. He is being very aggressive towards the wrasse. The clownfish is always looking for the wrasse, and waiting for it at any opening when it goes into the rock. The clownfish nips at the wrasse every once in a while but mainly follows it around, forcing it to hide in the rocks. To make things a bit more complicated the shrimp jump at the wrasse (they were alone in the tank for a few months and are sooo excited to have a fish to clean). Also this clown is overall aggressive, it has attacked my hand a couple times drawing blood.
My question is- is this a too small tank problem. Is the clownfish just protecting the anemone and more space for the wrasse to avoid the anemone would make the clown less aggressive? It has been 24 hours, at what point should I worry about the wrasse, he is healthy and swimming around but always has to be cautious?
