Question for the quarantine experts. When getting new fish in, do you medicate no matter what? If so whats your process??? Or do you observe a fish and medicate as needed or not needed? Thank you

My QT protocol goes like this:
Day 1 - TTM phase 1
Day 4 - TTM phase 2 and dose Prazipro
Day 7 - TTM phase 3
Day 10 - TTM phase 4 and dose Prazipro
Day 13 - Move to QT tank for 2- 4 weeks observation.
Medicate as needed and maybe stay in QT longer.
I started this after a Purple Tang brought in Ich that wiped out $600 worth of fish.
Since then, I have lost fish in QT, but not a single one in my displays.

I do 21 days of chloroquine phosphate (ich shield powder), followed by 2 rounds of prazi. Then observe.

I've been doing Angels, so copper is out.

This is what I do and I believe it is the best over all approach

I don't have two QTs to do the TTM, I only have one. I usually dose prazipro twice after the fish get settled then two weeks of cupramine. My Fish seem to do ok with that, the first three anyway.

You don't need tanks to do TTM. Many just yse a couple of 5 gallon buckets (old salt buckets). Two small heaters, 4 air stones and an air pump.

Copper is just too hard on fish.
