I posted a thread in CWAS regarding fish issues. If you would like to read it there it includes a picture.

But I having hair algae trouble starting. I want to buy a lawnmower blenny to help. But Floyd my hawkfish is a royal pain in the a$$. He killed my cleaner shrimp and is mean to my fire goby. He was fine and not bothered anyone when he was in the 210 but now in smaller quarters he is a pain.

Do you think he will leave the blenny alone or would you recommend not getting one???

Ive always thought of Lawnmower blennys as like hermit crabs, out of sight out of mind, but if he is a Royal pain..... he might just pick on everything.

Does he bother your hermit crabs at all?

In my experience mean fish only pick on colorful, out and about fish not bottom dwelling, rock looking fish.

My hawkfish may be picking on the littlier crabs. I know my little ones are gone...nothing in the shells...and the bigger ones are still doing strong. I don't see him picking on them..he just chases my fire goby when he gets an itch to be a *****.

That is why I was wondering if anyone knew what the capatibility of a dwarf hawkfish would be with a lawnmower blenny.

Thanks

Typically they would make good tankmates but in your situation you will have to add one with caution. A firefish is a pretty timid and defenseless fish though. In the wild firefish sometimes act as signal fish and are an indicator for more timid fish that would otherwise hide without their presence. A nice sized blenny may not be such a push-over for your aggresive hawkfish
