Fish recommendation please

Hey all, I'd just like to get some input on what type of fish to add to my 46 gallon bowfront, it's been set-up for over a year now.
Current inhabitants are:
True Percula Clown
Kole Tang
Engineer goby
Diamond goby
cleaner shrimp
small sea hare
couple astrea snails, and an emerald mithrax crab.

This is my first tank, and I don't feel as comfortable on choosing fish as I do corals, so I'm asking for some good options that won't disrupt anything and movement and color to the tank. I was thinking about a Radient Wrasse, but I don't want to over crowd my sandbed....

Why not trying to add another perc to pair? I love clownfishes so I guess I am a little biased. I know they're cheap, but a domino damsel would give you some black in the aquarium. It would look good offsetting the orange in the percs.
 
Yea I've tried to get my perc to pair.
Originally I bought him as a pair but his mate died a few days after I bought the pair. Soon I bought another perc but for some reason he died too. I still don't know the cause of their death, it wasn't a parasite or disease, so it had to have just been stress.
I didn't even think of a domino damsel, thanks for the suggestion.
 
try a flasher wrasse, fairly small and very colourful. Could even pair them.
i have a McCosker's Flasher Wrasse and would love a pair, you may have to cover your tank though.
My tank isn't covered but it is a fair high up to the edge, although i do think i'm treading ice a little.
Maybe even firefish, but the same applys.
 
Only trouble with Damsels, judging from comments on the forum, and watching them in the LFS is aggression. Nasty little so and so's
 
I'm going to be a poop and say you are maxed out....now if you get rid of the Kole Tang [which will outgrow your tank] you could add a Dwarf Angel or something

I have a pair of Ocellaris Clowns and a Blue Damsel in my 46 bow
 
I had problems with clowns also, for no appearant reason. My guess is they were all wild-so possibly cyanide caught. I bought 2 tank raised clowns and have had them for 3 years now....HTH

How exactly do you know when a tang has out grown the tank? I got the kole tang for algae control and he was about an inch at the time, now he's 3 inches and eats more brine than algae lol

Also, if I get a tank-bred clown to pair with mine, is there an increase in success rate since he won't be cyanide caught ?

One more question, is there a best online vender to purchase from or should I just order from whichever has what I need in stock? Saltwaterfish.com looks like the best since they have free shipping right now.

Yes you will have an increased success rate.

As for on-line ordering, I only have 1 expreience with fish from the net and it wasn't great. www.ffexpress.com. They sent me incorrect fish that would not co-exist without killing each other by mistake. They made up for it by refunding my money, but I am still stuck with the fish. HTH

I'm not sure on the lemon peel, maybe others will join in here. IMO most dwarf angels in a reef is like playing roulette with your corals. I had a model citizen coral beauty for 7 months, well fed and happy. All the sudden he went nuts on my clam and a few LPS. Back to the LFS, and I'm done with them :)

First off ... just wanted to say I love the way your tank looks..... I would definitely skip the Domino Damsel... My g/f got one and it's mean as hell .....She loves it and it's pretty but the last thing i'll let her do is put it in the display , no matter how much she moans and groans and begs :D ...Maybe some firefish , cardinals , clown goby possibly .....or a small school of 3 or so green chromis ... good luck ...
 
Nice tank The0wn4g3! Very clean! Can you post more pics? I have been thinking about getting a 46G bow front tank. Not sure if I want to go with a standard rectangular tank or the bow front though. Have you had any issues with it? ie cleaning, flow, etc? Would you go with one again? How about a Bangaii Cardinal (pair?)?

"... let her do it ..." Oh, honey, how you jest. :fun4: The big teeth smiley ain't gonna help you now! I know that it cannot be put in with the other fish in the display because ... wait for it ... it's a peaceful tank. I just like to make you feel like you're in charge. You're in control :thumbsup:

The only thing i don't like about the 46gal bowfront is that it is sometimes awkward getting a look at the back of the tank. Of course mine is against the wall so that has a lot to do with it. Overall I am happy with it though. If I went back and did it again with a little more money, I would have bought a 36*18*20 which is 58-60 gallons, but at the time I wasn't able to find a tank like this. On the other hand, if I did it again with more money, I would seriously look at getting a 72 bowfront.
If you like to be different (like me) and not go with a regular tank the bowfront is no different except.. well, being bowed in the front. Other than that I have had no issues at all.
