So I've had a haddoni for a couple months now, seems to be doing well. I was concerned about it eating my fish when I first got it since I read they are prone to do that, but I never had any incidents in the beginning. At night, when the cardinalfish bangaii were more active, I noticed once or twice that the female would drift into the anemone, but she would dart away startled and not go near it (so I guess she got a small sting- enough to notice, but not enough to actually stun her). The pygmy angel actually is bold enough to try to swim up and nip the anemone around the mouth or foot!
Now I've been comfortable with the anemone and the fish together, and today I found the female cardinalfish stuck in the anemone! We were able to get her out, and she is currently in a breeder box in the tank, seems to be fine (swimming normally, not breathing faster than normal, no scar/sting marks that I can see). I'm curious if anyone has had a fish survive being grabbed by an anemone, and if so, what happened? Did the fish have any long term health problems, and did you put the fish back in the tank with the anemone?
Thanks,
Bryan
